THE MISSION OF THE SEPTEMBER CONCERT FOUNDATION IS TO FILL THE SKIES WITH MUSIC EVERY SEPTEMBER 11TH. OUR GOAL IS TO BRING PEOPLE AND COMMUNITIES TOGETHER, TO REAFFIRM OUR HOPE FOR PEACE, AND TO CELEBRATE LIFE AND OUR UNIVERSAL HUMANITY.
Description:
The September Concert Foundation was created in April, 2002 for the sole purpose of organizing an annual citywide music festival in New York, in remembrance of September 11t. Since that date we have grown extensively and now have local, national, and international participants on this day of music for peace. OUR MISSION: To fill the skies with music every September 11th. OUR GOAL: To bring people and communities together, to reaffirm our hope for peace, and to celebrate life and our universal humanity. The September Concert is based on the principles of: FREEDOM: All venues and musicians are free to design and an organize their own concerts EQUALITY: All music and musicians are treated equally regardless of genre or background ACCESSIBILITY: All music is offered to the public free of charge. TOGETHER, WE FILL THE SKIES WITH MUSIC EVERY SEPTEMBER 11TH
