To empower patients, survivors, caregivers and those affected by breast cancer to take control of their diagnosis by providing them with the necessary armor to fight this disease: organizational tools and resources that meet their individual needs. We meet patients on the front line and turn what is often a chaotic experience into an organized plan of attack.
Description:
C101 believes that developing a plan of attack, having the means to stay organized as well as access to appropriate resources and information is half the battle of getting through this difficult and traumatic time. In addition, C101 recognizes the need for patients to have a city guide to help them find the necessary products and services associated with the treatment process.
History:
The C101 organization was developed and inspired by Executive Director Monica Knoll's experience with breast cancer in a major metropolitan city and the experiences of countless other breast cancer patients and survivors she met along the way to recovery. In addition to breast cancer, they all shared one thing in common: frustration - the frustration of finding oneself thrust into a new world of medical information as well as health care, websites, books, support groups and institution choices which only escalated our overwhelming fears. They were not stymied by our excellent medical care, but by the day-to-day demands of balancing our treatment with work, finances, relationships and emotional well-being in the face of cancer.
