Greater Chinatown Community Association(GCCA)'s mission is to promote the well-being of low-income Chinese immigrants, adults, and seniors from China, Taiwan, and many Southeast Asian countries. It serves the population in Chinatown, New York City, and statewide.

Description:
Its office is located in downtown Chinatown with two offices, three classroom, and one doctor's office. Its staff consists of executive director, program director, caseworker, four part-time ESOL, citizenship and computer teachers, one computer aid, and three volunteers. Every year, it serves over one thousand registered clients and many walkin customers.

All services offered are free of charge, including social benefit applications, medical and health cares(acupuncture/massage, medical checkups, etc), education in English literacy, computer, and citizenship, and cultural and recreational activities.

History:
Established in 1972, it was started by community activists and church clerks. In the mean time, its affiliate NY Chinese Senior Citizen was also founded to serve mainly seniors in the community.

GCCA has been an independent, non-religious non-profit for over 36 years. Its Board of Directors has nine members and supervises its development and administration through its executive director. It is supported financially by government agencies, national and local businesses, and individuals from the community.

Its programs have been developed during the decades. For instance, three new computer classes have in service to train participants for better education and job qualification since September, 2006. For more information, please see its website www.gccanyc.org.
