Youth Action program and Homes is an East Harlem based organization that for over two and a half decades has been committed to empowering youth and building community.Its roots trace back to 1978, when a group of young people, with the support of their teachers acted on there belief that young people can be a powerful force for good in their East Harlem Neighborhood. Our mission is"to build a community of young people and adults committed to taking responsibility for their own lives and for improving the larger community."
Description:
Youth Action Program & Homes offer a 10 month program which includes: .Education and Preparation at YAPH onsite classrooms .Hands On Construction Training .Participate in neighborhood revitalization through rehabilitating housisng for homeless and low-income families .Life Skills Development .Job Readiness and Career Planning .Americorps Community Projects .Job and College placement at the end of the pogram
