The Father's Heart Ministries is a faith-based not-for-profit ministry. It was created to demonstrate God's love through practical expressions of compassion. It is the vision and commitment of the Father's Heart Ministries to see the cycle of dependency and poverty broken. "Our goal is to restore their dignity, empower them to support themselves and to get off the food line"
Description:
The Father's Heart Ministries is dedicated to restoring dignity and an improved quality of life to the working poor, those on fixed incomes (elderly, ill), the homeless and immigrant individuals in our community. In our efforts to support those in need and to reduce hunger, we run a food pantry and soup kitchen where hundreds of children and adults are fed hot meals on a weekly basis. In addition, we provide free ESL and Parenting classes, job opportunities for neighborhood youth at our ice cream store, and referrals to appropriate social services in hopes of enabling individuals to move towards self-sufficiency.
History:
In 1998, Chuck and Carol established The Father’s Heart Ministry Center on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The Center has also become an umbrella providing a vehicle for the faith-based community to network with corporate and private organizations, government agencies and with other non-profits. Together they share resources and personnel that more adequately addresses the needs of the wonderfully diverse and complex urban communities of New York City.
