The Urban Divers Estuary Conservancy (UDEC) is a 501 c3 not for profit environmental and cultural organization committed to active participation in the restoration,conservation, protection,as well as public education for our coastal environmental resources, with a special focus on the urban estuary and the community that lives, learns, works and plays in and along its shores.

Description:
UDEC operates two centers along NY HARBOR; its downriver center GOWANUS /RED HOOK SOUTH BROOKLYN HARBOR MARINE FIELD STATION and its upriver center, the HARLEM RIVER/HUDSON RIVER NORTH MARINE STATION & ECOLOGY CENTER. The HARLEM RIVER ECOLOGY Center, is a multicultural and international urban nature center for environmental education,community stewardship,culture and maritime. The center is located on the HARLEM RIVER waterfront at the southern end of Roberto Clemente State Park, NYC Bridge Park and River Park Towers, just north of the historic HIGH BRIDGE AQUADUCT now in restoration, in the Morris Heights section of the BRONX.

History:
UDEC HARLEM RIVER/HUDSON RIVER NORTH MARINE STATION & ECOLOGY CENTER offers a host of interactive and interpretive exhibits and other resources that includes a modest aviary, reptarium and aquarium that inspire exploration, discovery and learning about the living nature of our urban estuary and its watershed. The center offers free to low cost weekly weekend family programming that include environmental workshops, stewardship opportunities, cultural programs and eco-cruise series on the HARLEM RIVER and HUDSON RIVER NORTH of the George Washington Bridge. It offers field trip opportunities for schools,afterschool, youth groups and senior programs. It is host of the Annual Great Muscoota River Paddle, and Great Muhicanituk River Paddle eco-cruise series The Annual Submerge Art and Environment Festival...Under Da Big TiPi...and more.
