The WAH Center’s mission is to serve the general public by presenting art exhibitions, performances and cultural events as well as lectures, seminars and educational programs of local, national and international interest. It also preserves and displays historical art and artifacts. The WAH Center’s further mission is to preserve its historical building and make it a functional part of the international cultural community.

Description:
The WAH Center is open to the public for our art exhibits and cultural events. Every year thousands of people pass through our doors to see cutting edge art exhibits and performance.

History:
The not-for-profit Williamsburg Art & Historical Center (WAH Center) was founded in late 1996 by artist & philanthropist Yuko Nii. It is housed in a landmark building, the Kings County Savings Bank Building, a French Second Empire masterpiece, dating back to 1867. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Kings County Savings Bank building, built in 1867, is on the National Register of Historic Places and was the seventh building to be landmarked in New York City. The location of the building is one of New York’s most historically significant areas and an economic development zone. Williamsburg is now also New York’s largest art community with over 10,000 writers, artists, and performers, many of whom are in some of the foremost galleries in New York City, or perform in major New York Institutions, or write for major magazines

How to get to the WAH Center From Manhattan When driving, just keep to your right when crossing the Williamsburg Bridge which leads you to Broadway. Turn right on Broadway. We are 2 blocks down on the corner of Bedford Avenue and Broadway in the landmark Kings County Savings Bank Building, 135 Broadway. By Subway Take the 14th Street, L Train one stop into Brooklyn to Bedford Avenue.Walk south and under the Williamsburg Bridge to Broadway. Or you can take the J, M or Z train to the Marcy Avenue stop.
