Global Inheritance is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to promoting environemental and social awareness using art and creativity.

Description:
Our main goal is to get people involved in and excited about environmental and social issues. We do this by making our programs highly interactive. We're most well known for our painted recycling bins and our Recycling Store, where you can buy items like skate decks, clothing, and cds with your recyclable bottles and cans. Through our various initiatives, which are featured at large music festivals and other entertainment events, we try to make it easy for people to do good things.

History:
Founded in 2002, Global Inheritance has spent the last 5 years creating incentive-based initiatives that target people on an individual level. Beginning with Fashion Peace, founder Eric Ritz sought to design cause-based programs that fused creativity and interaction in order to get people excited about and involved with social and environmental issues. This project paved the way for the various programs that Global Inheritance now runs, which incorporate art and direct involvement to encourage recycling, the use of public transportation, a knowledge of cultural history, and awareness/action for various global social issues. By then partnering with a number of music and film festivals, sporting events, corporations and venues, the organization is able to reach thousands of people in fun and exciting environments.

Global Inheritance continues to push partners and participants to think outside conventional modes of activism, encouraging “creative thinking over conflict.” One of our most successful programs, the TRASHed :: Recycling Store, rewards festival-goers with prizes geared towards each specific audience (skate decks at X Games; CDs, t-shirts and posters at Virgin Music Festival; museum tickets at the Hollywood Bowl). Bottles and cans that are recycled on-site can be exchanged for points, which can then be used towards prizes of different values. This program exemplifies our goal of challenging people to actually participate in activism, rather than passively acknowledge issues.

Global Inheritance has partnered with ESPN X Games, the Coachella Music Festival, Virgin Mobile & Virgin Music Festival, the Hollywood Bowl, Amoeba Music, Fuel TV.
