The Liberty Partnerships Program provides support services to middle and high school students at-risk of dropping out of school. Our goal is to help them stay in school and prepare them for college or meaningful employment.

Description:
The Liberty Partnerships Program conducts afterschool programs in one middle and one high school in Queens and a Summer and Saturday program that is held on the campus of Queensborough. Services provided include academic support, mentoring, cultural and recreational enrichment, counseling, SAT and regents preparation, parent engagement, college and workforce preparation, and community engagement. At Queensborough our program name is Project PRIZE, which was taken from the civil rights film "Eyes on the PRIZE" We encourage our students to always keep their eyes on their prize.

History:
The Liberty Partnerships Program was a Mario Cuomo initiative that was established in 1989 to address the high dropout rate in NYC. There are currently 54 programs statewide that are based on college campuses as well as within community based organizations.
