Mission Statement: The Midtown Pregnancy Support Center is a Christian organization providing abortion alternatives and post-abortion support to professionals and students in the greater New York City area by providing the practical resources and emotional and social support necessary to form a realistic plan for the future. Vision Statement: MPSC's vision is to demonstrate gospel love by:
- letting every woman in the New York City area facing an unplanned pregnancy know that a positive alternative to abortion can be hers if she chooses;
- powerfully meeting the needs of women who are considering abortion, and effecting a substantial increase in client pregnancies carried to term; and
- helping women who have experienced abortion to find hope and healing.
Description:
We are a non-profit, Christian organization. All of our services are free of charge and delivered in a confidential and professional atmosphere without the use of scare tactics or emotional appeals. We provide peer counseling from an options perspective. We believe in order for clients to make the best decision at this difficult time in their lives, they need to be informed of what all their options are. In addition to peer counseling, we also provide pregnancy tests and a post-abortion support group.
History:
The Midtown Pregnancy Support Center began over ten years ago by a group of women in a bible study who were overwhelmed by the number of abortions being performed in New York. As Christians, they felt they needed to reach out in love to help these individuals facing unplanned pregnancies. We have continued to grow and are still committed to showing these women compassion and love.
