Chefs for Humanity is an alliance of culinary professionals and educators working
in partnership with U.S. and global organizations, providing nutrition education,
hunger relief, and emergency and humanitarian aid to reduce hunger across the world.
Description:
CFH is involved in two international relief projects - one in Nicaragua and one in Lukulu, Zambia. Working with those communities we provide relief, equipment and tools, education and the possibility of micro-economic solutions. Here at home we are partnering with the NIH - creating nutrtion programs and eductaion to help curb the growing trend of childhood obesity and type II diabetes.
History:
We were founded by Cat Cora, first female Iron Chef and Executive Chef of Bon Appetit. In 2006 CFH was involved in emergency relief efforts in Gulf Port MS - serving over 5000 meals a day for two weeks and helping the community prepare food and menus for after our departure.
