The Mission of the New York City Anti Violence Project is to end violence affecting the lesbian ,gay, bisexual,transexual and HIV affected communities.

Description:
The New York City Anti-Violence Project Offers free and confidential support to victims of bias crime, domestic violence, pick-up crimes,police misconduct, HIV-related violence, rape and sexual assault. indiviual and group counseling is available at our office, while a bilingual crisis hotline offers 24 hour assistance from counselors and trained volunteers In addition, We provide accopaniments and advocacy for our clients with the police, the courts, medical, and social service agencies.

History:
The new York City Gay and Lesbian Anti-Violence Project is the nation's largest crime-victim service agency for the lesbian, gay, transgender bisexual and HIV affected communities. Since the New york City Gay and Lesbian Ant-Violence Project's Founding in 1980, we have assisted thousands of crime victims every year, from all five boroghs.
