Elder Craftsmen's mission is to help older adults be creative, productive and independent while seeking broader public recognition of the skills and capabilities of older people.
Description:
Elder Craftsmen is a 50 year old non-profit crafts training organization for older adults, who produce unique, high quality handicrafts. A significant number of these creations are donated to community groups serving individuals in need throughout New York City.
History:
Elder Craftsmen began 50 years ago with a consignment shop on Lexington Ave. We have evolved over the last 25 years into a service organization that provides arts and crafts classes to senior centers throughout the boroughs and Yonkers.
