Mission Baby Basics NYC strives to ensure babies at risk have the opportunity to thrive. By consistently providing community connection, parenting education and diapers, Baby Basics NYC helps financially stressed, low income working families create and sustain a nurturing and healthy family environment.
Description:
Baby Basics NYC is a non-profit 100% volunteer organization dedicated to helping low income working families with children age 0-3. By consistently providing disposable diapers and community connection two times monthly to program families, Baby Basics NYC is helping insure babies who are born into poverty and may be at risk have the chance to thrive. Parent meetings involve discussion about a topic related to early childhood development and parenting and diapers, which are often too expensive for working families who are struggling to make ends meet, are distributed. While parents are meeting, children enjoy nursery school area with developmental play experiences led by dedicated volunteers. Early literacy and nutrition are two prevailing program themes.
