Animal Haven's mission is to find homes for abandoned cats and dogs.

History:
Animal Haven has been in operation for over 30 years and was originally run entirely by volunteers. Our main shelter in Flushing, Queens was donated to our organization in the 1970s and has become the foundation of Animal Haven. It is the location where all Animal Haven's cats and dogs are taken in, treated for medical conditions, or simply vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered so that they are ready for adoption. Less than two years ago, we acquired a second facility in SoHo which has become our Adoption Center and Boutique. Animal Haven is capitalizing on the growing trend of boutique pet products by marrying the dual concepts of an animal shelter with a retail space. The goal is to shift the negative perception of animal shelters and adopting a pet. With such a large space, Animal Haven is simultaneously offering multiple animal welfare programs and retail opportunities. The first floor and front entrance area are reserved for retail and animal living spaces, while the second floor is designated for agility, training, public events, humane education, animal socialization, and class space.
We are constantly looking for new ways to connect with the community and promote all of our wonderful animals for adoption. On weekends our Mobile Adoption Van can be found throughout Manhattan and we are always making appearances at local NY Animal Welfare events.
