Search and Care's primary mission is to help older people safely maintain their independence when they have no care giving family or friends to turn to for the support they need to manage their everyday activities.

Description and/or History:
Search and Care serves as a substitute family to people who are frail and isolated. Care managers make home visits, providing information and counseling. They evaluate each client's needs and make referrals to services such as Meals on Wheels, adult day care, home care and telephone reassurance programs.
Search and Care was established in 1972 to help older people live independently in dignity and comfort in their own homes. Since its inception, our staff and volunteers have helped over 5,000 people living in Upper Yorkville and Carnegie Hill.
