GOAL's Mission Statement: To work towards ensuring that the poorest of the poor and most vulnerable in our world and those affected by humanitarian crises have access to the fundamental needs and rights of life, for example, food, water, shelter, medical attention and literacy.

GOAL has responded to nearly every major natural and man-made disaster in the past 29 years and is currently operational in 15 countries in the developing world. It also implements rehabilitation and long-term development programs. and works with local partner organizations that have similar objectives. While GOAL’s priority is to bring life-saving assistance to people affected by emergencies, through the provision of food, healthcare and other basic requirements, it also prioritizes programs. which care for street children and people affected by HIV/AIDS. Since 1977, GOAL has provided more than $390 million in aid to the most vulnerable people worldwide on a minimal cost base. GOAL USA is registered in the US as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and contributions are deductible to the fullest extent allowed by the law.
History:
GOAL is an international humanitarian agency dedicated to the alleviation of the suffering of the poorest of the poor. It was founded by its current Chief Executive, John O'Shea in 1977.Since its inception GOAL has sent 1,100 volunteers (GOALies) to work in the developing world, alongside more than 2,000 local staff and spent over €350 million on the delivery of aid. It has an administration cost of only 5% per annum for the last 29 years and pursues a policy of total transparency and accountability, publishing annual audited accounts. GOAL has its headquarters in Dublin, Ireland and has offices in the UK and USA.
