Mano a Mano celebrates Mexican culture in the United States and promotes the understanding of Mexican traditions among immigrants, artists, educators and the general public.

Description:
Mano a Mano’s annual festivals and collaborations bring Mexican traditions to New York: Immigrant History Week (April), Cinco de Mayo (May), Mexican Independence (Sept), Day of the Dead (Oct/Nov), Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe and Posadas y Pastorelas (Dec). Our team of artists, educators and volunteers present performances, workshops, exhibits, processions and folk dramas, with detailed programmatic information on culture, traditions and artists. The Museum of the City of New York, Department of Parks, St. Mark’s Church in-the-Bowery, El Museo del Barrio, American Indian Community House and Taller Boricua have hosted. Our bilingual website (www.manoamano.us) serves as a portal for Mexican traditional culture in NY.

History:
Mano a Mano: Mexican Culture Without Borders is a nonprofit (501(c)3) with a eight-year history of presenting, preserving and documenting Mexican culture in New York. It was founded in 2000 as a project of the Center for Traditional Music and Dance. Mano a Mano has presented many events, ranging in size from large independent presentations to collaborations with an array of City cultural organizations.
