Centro de Hospitalidad, Inc. (aka “El Centro”) was created to be a community resource center focused on the needs of Latino immigrant workers and their family members in the borough of Staten Island in New York City. Free space is provided to other organizations to bring needed services directly into the community where the target population resides.
Description:
El Centro plans to create a setting where recently arrived immigrants can form friendships, receive information and training, and make their own contribution to the welfare of the community. El Centro works to serve as a primary location for establishing and coordinating a network of services for Spanish-speaking immigrants. Such services include: advocacy, referral, educational workshops and training in language skills. It was created in order to provide opportunities for economic empowerment and personal development.
