| Last updated on October 13, 2008 |
Church of the Holy Family operates a small Homeless Shelter for 12-15 men & women from January through March, Monday through Friday. We need volunteer overnight supervisors.
Description:
Our volunteer supervisors donate one or two nights a month, from 7:30pm - 7am. Supervisors work in teams of two, welcoming our guests, serving a light meal and sharing with the men & women who appreciate a warm place to stay. Our homeless guests are carefully screened by the Partnership of the Homeless and are polite, quiet and grateful.
History:
Our shelter, working in conjunction with the Partnership of the Homeless, is one of 100 faith based emergency shelters in the 5 boroughs . For the past 11 years our mission has been to provide a warm and welcoming environment to NYC's homeless men & women.
