Parside Community Center is owned by New York City Housing Authority. We are a non-profit organization that operates a year around program. Parkside mission is to creat a signifiant, positive opportunitiies for the children, teenagers, and adults living in the community. Our goal is to create a safe learning environment for our youth. We aim to improve the outcome for the unpriliviage children and families.

Description:
Parkside Community Center has an After School Program for kids ages 6-12 years old, a Pre-teen program for ages 13-14 years old, a teen night program for ages 13-19 years old, and an adult program which we provide educational workshops at night. All programs are free of charge. We offer Summer Camp Program and Night Center in the summer. We also have a program for Fathers who are in need for Assistants.

History:
We have been well known for our Partners In Reading Program that have been existing at my site for ten years. This program is run by the Board of Education teachers. The program assist the kids in grade 1-3. We have several kids who left the program and their reading level has improved. We have another successful program called the Dinner Club. In this program the kids are taught etiquette while in resturants and they also learn how to order food. We have also been an active member for The Bronx Team up to Clean Up. We were able to get one hundred kids and teens to get involved in the program.
