Concrete Safaris empowers youth to become healthy leaders through green exercise programs that enrich the mind, body, community, & environment.
Description:
Concrete Safaris offers youth (ages 9-12) the opportunity to become proactive, healthy community leaders through fitness, hiking, and gardening activities.
History:
Concrete Safaris was founded and piloted by Mac Levine in 2007. In 2008, the organization partnered with Union Settlement Association's Rising Stars program. CS Explorers, our participating youth (ages 9-12), exercised after school and hiked in Harriman State Park two Saturdays per month. They also designed and installed a shade perennial and herb garden.
