Mission Statement
North Central Bronx Hospital (NCBH) patients are the center of all our endeavors and our primary mission is to provide quality, cost effective primary and acute care services to our community in a respectful, professional manner, regardless of ability to pay.

Description:
NCBH is a member of the NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation, affiliated for clinical services with the New York Medical Alliance and a major academic affiliate and teaching site of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and offers a complete range of acute, specialty, general care and psychiatric services.
NCBH is a Level II Trauma Center offering both
medical and psychiatric emergency service and
specialized maternal and child health services,

on-site GED/child care component, an obstetric
midwifery program, and a wide range of pediatric
outpatient services.
NCBH provides specialized services for HIV patients,
including primary care, behavioral health and

History:
Opened in 1976, NCBH has been a major provider of comprehensive health care in one of New York City's most ethnically diverse service areas. The hospital's midwifery service has received national recognition for its family-friendly approach. Our adolescent pregnancy program meets the special medical and social needs of pregnant teens and their infants. Our Growth and Recovery Program coordinates more than 25 twelve-step self-help groups and wellness programs throughout the community with attendance of 1,500 to 2,000 people monthly. The Center also offers a broad range of wellness programs, which include stress and pain management, weight loss, smoking cessation and cardiovascular risk reduction.
