]Covenant House New York is the state's largest childcare agency. Every year, we provide food, clothing, shelter and support services to over 8,000 youth who come to our Crisis Center and Rights of Passage Program. In addition, over 800 teens receive educational and vocational training as well as support services.
Description and/or History:
Covenant House New York began in 1969, when a Franciscan priest provided a night of shelter from a snowstorm for six young runaways in a small apartment on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. From this modest beginning, Covenant House has grown into the largest social service agency serving homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth in the United States, Canada, and Latin America.
Covenant House New York has been in existence for over 30 years and continues to offer our services to street kids.
