The mission of the Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen is to feed the hungry, to comfort the afflicted, to seek justice for the homeless, and to counsel and provide a sense of hope and opportunity to those in need.
Description:
The Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen serves an average of 1,135 full sit-down meals each week day of the year. These meals are consumed by our guests in the beautiful, landmarked nave of the church. We have between 40 and 50 volunteers working with us each day. There are many associated services and programs that engage the needs, talents, and interests of our guests and volunteers.
History:
The Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen began operation on October 22, 1982 and has never missed a single week day of serving hot nutritious meals to the citizens of New York.
