Cultural Renaissance for Economic Revitalization
is an emerging 501 (c)3 grassroots, not-for-profit organization that started its first year of programming in January 2004. CRER is located in the Bronx and is an all-volunteer based service organization. CRER is dedicated to empowering ex-offenders and the homeless, primarily from the Bronx County with practical teaching methods in Economic Literacy.

Description:
The services provided by CRER include Economic Literacy Workshops, Train the Trainer Workshops, One-on-One Credit Counseling and Referral Services. Our Goal is to teach the population we serve the importance of saving, building assets and qualifying for mainstream financial services. The organization is always looking for volunteers with specific skills who want to make a difference. By becoming a volunteer, you can make a significant contribution in areas of research, data-entry, writing and marketing skills.

History:
Cultural Renaissance for Economic Revitalization, CRER began teaching financial literacy in NYC based correctional facilities to men and women preparing for the re-entry process. It has also entered NYC homeless shelters providing Financial Literacy workshops and one-on-one credit counseling services to families preparing for permanent housing opportunities.
