The mission of the Conservancy is to advocate and raise funds for the historically sensitive restoration and maintenance of Brooklyn's oldest park, and to develop and support community programs that enhance the park.

Description:
The Fort Greene Park Conservancy has been working to increase free programming and to assist the Department of Parks and Recreation with general maintenance and physical improvements in the park. Ongoing projects include erosion control measures, planting, weeding, cleaning, painting etc. The Conservancy seeks to increase volunteer support (both fiscal and physical) of the park.

History:
Fort Greene Park is a landmark park cherished for its history, rolling landscape, trees and monuments. Established in 1847, the park was designed by Olmstead and Vaux and features a monument designed by McKim Meade and White marking the largest Revolutionary War burial site. In addition, the park offers a historical visitor center, two playgrounds, tennis courts, free concerts and educational programming.
