Forest Hills Hospital is a member of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. As a 222-bed community hospital located in an ethnically diverse residential neighborhood in Queens County, it is the Hospital's mission to provide our community with the highest quality and most compassionate healthcare in the county. The Hospital's medical staff and employees ensure that at all times there is sensitivity and respect for the cultural needs of our patients and their families. The hospital strives to improve the health of the communities it serves and is committed to providing the highest quality clinical care; promoting health education and outreach; and caring for the entire community regardless of the ability to pay.
Description:
Are you retired and want to spend your free time productively, or perhaps you'd just like to help others during your spare time? We are currently looking for volunteers to serve as Patient Relations Volunteers and as "Meal Mates". We need volunteers who can be here on weekdays anytime between 8 am and 2 pm. We are located just minutes from bus and train stops. What could be better?
History:
The hospital, originally called LaGuardia Hospital, was acquired in 1996 by the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, the nation's third largest, non-profit healthcare system. The hospital had its name changed to North Shore University hospital at Forest Hills, and underwent extensive construction and renovation. Its vast departments and services had been greatly improved since the Acquisition. Currently renamed NS-LIJ Forest Hills Hospital, it is a community hospital serving the residents of Queens. Services for all members of the community are available at the hospital, including Emergency care, Cardiology, Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Women's Health.
