Therapeutic Horseback Riding at Kensington
Powered by Truist
Last updated on September 6, 2008

We provide lessons at Kensington Stables, East Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn NY, near Prospect Park. We offer lessons all day Monday and Tuesday and afternoons Weds - Friday. Unfortunately our location does not allow us to offer lessons on weekends.
Volunteers lead horses and walk along side to assist riders, who progress rapidly and at times dramatically. We celebrate the abilities of our riders. The joy of riding is contagious and we not only have fun, we always end the day feeling we have done some real good in a unique way.
Our riders have a wide range of disabilities, from CP to autism, to at risk kids, and they all make great gains riding with us. As one rider spontaneously enthused: "when I ride I feel free!" and a MOM said "of all the therapy my daughter gets, only GALLOP gives her what she needs."

Love of animals and respect for people, whether or not they have disabilities, are important. We train our volunteers. NO experience is necessary but the volunteer should not be afraid of horses.
