Administrative Aide Intern

The Russian American Cultural Heritage Center, RACH-C, is looking for an intern to help with administrative and management tasks. We are relatively new and not yet able to afford salaries for help with critical tasks. The intern /unpaid, will benefit from learning about funding, proposals, program management, communications, media and literally all aspects of building and operating a non profit organization; working directly with the organizers and directors.

Our immediate needs are focused on planning and preparation for our Children’s Festival of Russian Culture to be held May 31, 2008 in Fort Tryon Park as well as 10 Salons and concerts for this year. Tasks include organizing mailing lists, contacting supporters, setting up schedules, planning fund raising activities and related activities.

We are an educational and charitable non-profit community development organization serving the "Russian American" community. We strive to preserve the culture, traditions and values that Russian speaking people have brought from their countries of origin, so that these can continue to enrich the American experience as other groups have done before them.

We look to provide a bridge between the generations, and across ethnic and religious distinctions and demonstrate how Russian speakers are connected by commonalities of interest that may be greater here than in their countries of origin.

We hope that you can find us an enthusiastic individual with good basic computer skills (MS WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint), capable of independent action, interested in multicultural environments (Russian Language a plus but not required,) comfortable meeting and working with a wide range of people – writers, performers, artists, diplomats, etc.

This opportunity is sponsored by: Russian American Cultural Heritage Center
