The Korean American League for Civic Action, Inc. is a nonprofit, nonpartisan community advocacy and education organization engineering in encouraging members of the Korean American and the Asian American community to become more involve in civic participation, which is an integral part of American democracy, through leadership, education and advocacy programs in the Tri-State Metropolitan area. KALCA has various programs where college students can participate in the civic process, including the 2008 College Internship Program, Get-Out-the Vote Campaign, and Volunteer Work.
All college students who will volunteer in the office will be doing outstanding research assignments on public policy within the Korean American community, such as summarizing media articles and aware registered non-profit organizations on critical public issues -- immigration, mental health and small business. Also KALCA welcomes web designers who would like to volunteer their time to help start the organization's community bulletin.
