TASC created the Roundtable for After-School Partnerships to help volunteers become one-on-one mentors to students in seven public elementary and middle schools in Brooklyn, Harlem and the Bronx. Within these school communities, most kids are reading well below grade level and struggling to succeed. Only about one in 20 grows up to graduate from college. Mentors help kids with their school work, but also lead them in exploring the vast cultural and recreational riches of New York.
Be at least 18 years of age Live in NYC or surrounding area Have clean criminal history Be able to adhere to program policies and procedures 12 month commitment Available to meet mentee at school Meet with your mentee for total of 8 hours each month.
