Bowl for Charity with Junior Achievement!
Powered by Truist
Last updated on June 17, 2008
Logo

How does the Bowl-a-Thon work? You get together with 6 of your friends, co-workers or family members to form a team. Each of you then collects pledges from your other friends, co-workers and family members. Then you join us for a fun-filled, exciting evening of bowling, food, drinks and prize giveaways.

The money raised from the bowl-a-thons goes to helping educate over 90,000 students of New York City and Long Island annually with lessons of workforce readiness and financial literacy. We can organize bowls at any time during the year, and we typically have them on weeknights in Manhattan.

You don't need to be a good bowler, just a good sport, willing to support a great cause! As a team captain, you will recruit others to join in the cause and aim to raise about $150 each over the course of 1-2 months.

Volunteer Reflections    Post Your Own!

Overall Experience    Experience rating
MY EXPERIENCE VOLUNTEERING WITH THE PROGRAM WAS WONDERFUL

I VOLUNTEER WITH CLARA BARTON HIGH SCHOOL WHICH WAS MY HIGH SCHOOL AT THE TIME IN 1998, MY PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR WAS MS. BIGHAM. THE VOLUNTEERING EXPERIENCE WAS SO WONDERFUL, THAT THERE WERE SOME OTHER CLASSMATES THAT DROP OUT OF THE PROGRAM AND I OFFERED AND ENJOY PICKING UP THERE SLACK. IT GAVE ME THE EXPERIENCE OF KNOWING WHAT ITS LIKE TO BE A TEACHER, AND AT THE TIME I WAS THE ONLY 9TH GRADER WHO WAS IN THE PROGRAM, EVERYONE ELSE WERE SENIORS. JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT IS A WONDERFUL PROGRAM TO VOLUNTEER WITH I WOULD ADVISED ANYONE TO VOLUNTEER WITH THE AGENCY.
